Celebrate Halloween on Maui Once Again
By Kathy Englert
Regular patrons of our many Maui condo rentals surely remember a little Halloween celebration in the beautiful town of Lahaina, Maui called Halloween on Front Street. Commonly referred to as the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific," Halloween celebrations on Front Street in Lahaina have for years been a must attend event for anyone, young and old alike, who likes to have fun on All Hallows Eve. With the famous Front Street closed to automotive traffic for most of the night, the many shops, art galleries, bars and eateries have, at its height, played host to upwards of 30,000 revelers dressed up in a variety intricate costumes all celebrating October 31st in the most beautiful place in the world! Unfortunately, due to a few hiccups, 2007 saw what looked to be the last official Halloween celebrations on Front Street. Or so we thought . . .
We're happy to announce that for 2011, Halloween is back on Front Street! Given the proverbial "green light" by the County of Maui, this years' Halloween celebration in Lahaina, "Halloween is Back on Front," promises to bring back the family friendly fun that made Halloween on Front Street the must attend celebration of the Pacific. So, what can you expect to find this Halloween on Front Street? Upon arriving in Lahaina after a short drive from your waterfront Maui condo rental in South Maui, the festivities will kick off at 3:30pm with a Keiki (children's) parade, costume contest, and assorted kids activities. As night falls the fun will kick into high gear with lots of family friendly live entertainment, vendors, and activities at the Banyan Tree and Campbell parks, various storefront and eatery Halloween night only specials, and the main attraction: fellow fun seekers in cool, creative costumes enjoying every moment of Halloween in the best place on earth: Maui!
It's not too late to book your ocean view Maui vacation rental at the Wailea Elua or Nani Kai Hale to celebrate Halloween on Maui. Contact your Maui Vacation Rental Advisor, Kathy Englert, and enjoy a very special evening in paradise this October 31st. Aloha!
