Many teenagers spend their days indoors, but it is hard to imagine spending any day indoors while on the island of Maui! Here are some popular things for teenagers to enjoy during your stay here on Maui:

1. Day on the Beach
Maui is home to the most beautiful beaches. Makena State Park’s well-known Big Beach and the famous Kamaole beach parks right by Kamaole Beach Royale and Kamaole Sands are perfect for a day in the sun. On the West side of Maui, lies Kaanapali beach which stretches from the Hyatt to the Sheraton and has a variety of fun water activities. Paia, on Maui’s North Shore, attracts surfers because of the waves at Paia Bay and Baldwin Beach Park. Farther north from Paia is Hookipa Beach Park, internationally known for windsurfing and a favorite of the Hawaiian sea turtle. These are only a few of the many beaches that Maui has to offer and are a great way to spend time with the family.

2. Hiking
Even on vacation, you have to stay fit. Time by the sea is great, but Maui’s mountainsides feature amazing hiking trails to explore. On the slopes of Haleakala is Polipoli Spring State Recreational Area where four hiking trails offers a chance to see the preserved native plants and a variety of wildlife. For the more experienced hikers, the Haleakala Crater trail is the way to go for panoramic views and backcountry camping. Waihee Ridge Trail is a popular one amongst locals, for a variety of ups and downs and the gorgeous view of the ocean. You can also take a look at the windmills along the Pali trail, which can be tackled from the Lahaina Pali or from an entrance closer to the Maalaea condominium, both with great views of the ocean as well as the island.

3. Surfing and Stand up Paddle Boarding
Surrounded by the clear waters and perfect waves, surfing or stand up paddle boarding is a must when vacationing to Maui. Near your south side vacation rental is Hawaiian Paddle Sports with tours and lessons for all water activities. Lessons are offered all over the island to give you a chance to bond with the ocean.

4. Paintball
Maui Paintball, located off Honoapiilani highway, is the only paintball course on the island. They offer many rates and packages for your teens or for the whole family. This exciting activity brings everyone together to enjoy a day of fun alongside the ocean.

5. Roller skating
Also located near your South Maui Vacation Rental is the Maui Inline Hockey Association. This rink at Kalama Park offers public skating on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Enjoy a night with friends as you skate along to the music with Maui’s tropical sunset in perfect view.

These activities are perfect for teenagers who enjoy some time in the sun. Book a stay with Rentals Maui and make some memories!
