When planning your next family or romantic getaway, you’re probably drawing up a long list of potential vacation sites ranging from drinking wine in Paris to snorkeling in the Caribbean. While an escape abroad may sound appealing, why not choose a place that’s still in America but feels like you’re venturing out into a completely new world? Why not choose Maui?

Maui is home to miles of beautiful white-sand beaches, the alluring Molokini Crater, the famous Road to Hana, and (of course) Haleakala summit. And while the state of Hawaii is part of the United States, it is really its own special paradise. The uniquely diverse culture is very much alive and well here today, so trust us when we say there is plenty you can learn from the Aloha State. The same can be said about the island of Maui, nobody leaves without learning something new as well as creating memories and building a connection to a place that is truly paradise.

If you’re still not convinced that Maui is a vacation must-do, here are our top reasons for visiting the Valley Isle.

The Beaches
With more than 100 miles of shoreline, Maui has a range of beaches to explore! Many of which are home to some unique snorkeling locations and are easy to get to such as the ever-popular Makena Beach. From red to white sand beaches, you are sure to find the perfect place for a day of fun in the Hawaiian sun.

Haleakala Mountain
Haleakala is the largest dormant volcano in the world and is quite the sight to see. Whether you want to hike the mountain’s ridge trail or head deep into the Polipoli forest, Haleakala National Park has plenty of areas to discover. Just remember to be respectful and malama ka aina (take care of the land) when adventuring.

The Whales
With a season typically starting around December, Maui is the place to watch the Pacific Humpback whales as it happens to be their favorite vacation spot. Just off the coast of Maui’s south shore, or even your island home away from home, are prime locations to spot whales. Each year they come to Hawaii to mate and give birth to their young. So if you plan your Hawaiian vacation around the winter time you are sure to witness one, if not multiple, of these gentle giants.

The Island Events
Every year Maui has some incredible festivals including the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival and the Kapalua Food and Wine Festival. These festivals feature specialty wines and food from well-known chefs. The renowned Maui Arts and Cultural Center is also host to vendor events such as the Made in Maui County Festival where you could possibly find the perfect souvenir to take home with you. And if you are looking for something more frequent, Fourth Friday is a monthly block party located in Kihei where locals and visitors alike come for an evening of fun!

These are just a few of the many reasons Maui no ka oi (Maui is the best), but don’t take our word for it! The Valley Isle has been voted the “Best Island in the World” more than 20 times by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. So, Maui for your next vacation? Book online today to start the adventure!
