As we continue to explore more of the beautiful South Maui, let’s move just south of Maalaea, into North Kihei. This part of Kihei offers tranquil beaches, restaurants, entertainment and much more.

Sugar Beach is Hawaii’s longest uninterrupted beach that stretches over 5 miles of gorgeous white sand. This very quiet and relaxing beach begins at Maalaea and expands all the way to the end of North Kihei Road. Sugar Beach is the perfect location for long walks along the shoreline, snorkeling, kayaking, and stunning panoramic ocean views and beautiful Maui sunsets.

In addition, North Kihei also provides great spots for dining and entertainment. If you love and appreciate the art of beer, drink local and stop into Maui Brewing Co. for a guided tour of the brewery, tastings and some live music by our local artists. If you’re drinking local, why not eat local? Try the delicious food trucks parked in front of Maui Brewing Co; you can even bring your food into the brewery too! There are also a handful of tasty dining options within the Azeka Shopping Center including, Coconut’s Fish Café, which won “best fish tacos” on Maui and is one of our personal favorites, Miso Phat Sushi was featured on the Food Network Channel: Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Nalu’s which offers an incredible breakfast and lunch menu, and of course the famous and delicious Maui Pie, the list continues… But before you leave North Kihei, try some of the best shave ice at Ululani’s.

If you happen to be in South Maui on the 4th Friday of the month, or are looking for something fun to do in the evening, Azkea Shopping Center also hosts Kihei Fourth Friday town party. This event is filled with live entertainment, arts and craft booths, local vendors and food trucks, great for the whole family.
