What brings you back to Maui year after year? Is it the chance to launch exciting Hawaiian adventures from some of the best Maui hotel resort & condo rentals? We hope so, but we know that’s not all. We know that you also love visiting the island so you can indulge in all the island adventures available to you right here at your fingertips. You can explore the Road to Hana, check out the sunrise atop of Mt. Haleakala, snorkel Molokini, and, of course, sit back and enjoy the humpback whale watching season in Maui!

Our favorite gentle giants are back to take advantage of the warm, shallow waters and if you haven’t had a chance to book a Hawaii vacation during the winter months then you are truly missing out. Starting as early as October and lasting until the new year, Maui’s beaches turn into more than places to watch amazing sunsets each night. Instead, they turn into a front-row seat to one of the most spectacular shows on earth – the return of the Hawaiian Humpback Whales.

Every winter these majestic creatures travel all the way from Alaska to our warm ocean waters to mate, give birth, and raise their young. And in the process, those of us on the island get a chance to experience a first-hand glimpse of these ocean giants as they play in the warm ocean waters right in front of our very own eyes.

During this time, you may choose to book a whale watching tour out of the Maalaea harbor or Lahaina harbor, or you might consider instead just grabbing a pair of binoculars and choose to spot these beautiful creatures from the lanai of your oceanfront vacation rental. Whatever your preference may be, there’s no denying the fact that a chance to witness one of the world’s most loved creatures jump, flip and swim-up close is nothing short of incredible. And they are already here!

So if you haven’t planned your Hawaii vacation getaway, make sure to book either a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom condo for rent before whale season ends. Time is of the essence and you do not want to miss your chance to welcome the whales home this season.  If you have any questions about where the best place to stay might be to capture a daily glimpse of the humpback whales, contact us or search our South Maui vacation rentals and we’ll fill you in on all the best spots. We hope to see you this winter and to hear from you soon. Have a great week and a hui hou!
